England manager Sarina Wiegman has signed a two-year contract extension with the Football Association, committing her future to the Lionesses until the conclusion of Euro 2029.
The 56-year-old Dutch coach's previous agreement was originally scheduled to expire following next summer's World Cup tournament in Brazil. However, this new deal ensures she will remain at the helm through the next major international cycle.
Since replacing Phil Neville in September 2021, Wiegman has enjoyed remarkable success, guiding England to their historic Euro 2022 victory at Wembley, a runners-up finish at the 2023 World Cup in Australia, and successfully defending their European crown by defeating Spain in the Euro 2025 final.
That triumph in 2025 marked the first time any England senior football team, men's or women's, won a major trophy on foreign soil. Furthermore, Wiegman became the first manager in history to reach five consecutive major international tournament finals, including her tenure with the Netherlands.

"I am so happy to be able to carry on with this squad and cannot think of a better job in football."
Sarina Wiegman
Expressing her delight, Wiegman stated that she could not think of a better job in football and was eager to continue working with the squad. FA chief Mark Bullingham praised her as an incredible coach with an unparalleled record in major tournaments.
Securing Wiegman's long-term future ahead of the upcoming World Cup removes any speculation regarding her departure, allowing the squad to maintain absolute focus on their qualification campaign and ongoing development.
The Lionesses recently secured an 8-1 aggregate victory over Greece in the World Cup play-offs and are set to face Ukraine next as they battle for a spot in next summer's tournament in Brazil.
