JustWatch, the popular search engine and guide for movies and TV shows used by 50 million people, is officially making the leap into the streaming business itself. The company is launching JustWatch TV, a new streaming service offering content from 30 partners with both free ad-supported tiers, paid options, and a dedicated movie rental store.
The JustWatch Group initially announced its expansion plans into streaming last month, confirming launch partners such as Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street, and Vortex Media. The company has since added international content partners including Cineverse in the U.S., LEONINE Studios in Germany, SND in France, and Altitude in the U.K.

Operating globally across 140 markets, the original guide indexes streaming options for over 500,000 movies and shows from more than 1,500 providers. This streaming chart data and availability information powers roughly 1,400 partner apps and websites, serving as a vital resource for studios, distributors, and marketing agencies targeting campaigns across major social platforms.
The new streaming service will debut within JustWatch's existing applications and website across 12 markets, including the United States, Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand. The ad-supported tier competes with free streaming services, while the premium ad-free tier, JustWatch TV Plus, offers over 300 ad-free titles in the U.S. along with advanced filtering tools.
Transitioning from a content discovery aggregator to a direct streaming provider represents a calculated strategic move for JustWatch. By leveraging years of rich search data and consumer intent insights, the company can curate niche libraries—such as indie films and older classics—that directly cater to targeted viewer demands without engaging in costly bidding wars for blockbuster original content against major studios.
Priced at $3.99 per month or $49.99 for a lifetime subscription, the Plus tier introduces an unconventional pricing model to the streaming market. Paid subscribers will also receive a 10% discount on hundreds of film rentals in the JustWatch TV Store. Aligned with budget-friendly competitors, the content lineup focuses heavily on indie productions and legacy titles, alongside a unique feature allowing users to request specific titles to help shape the platform's catalog.
