- AI investments across all industries have increased to 1.7% of revenue
- 70% of AI transformation success depends on people and change management
- Leaders must possess both AI skills and analog skills
- CEOs must personally lead the transformation at least one day a week
Many organizations today have fully integrated various AI tools including Copilot, Agent, ChatGPT, AI labs, and hundreds of use cases, yet measurable business outcomes have failed to keep pace with these investments.
During the AI-Native Transformation session at Nation Forum 2027 under Thailand's Agenda, Krating Poonpol, Chairman of Disrupt Health Impact Fund and co-founder of House of Wisdom, noted that AI investments across industries have risen to 1.7% of revenue, roughly doubling previous figures, while AI intelligence has advanced about tenfold without yielding proportional results.

A common pattern he observes is traditional organizations embedding AI into legacy processes. For instance, if a workflow consists of 10 steps, AI is applied only to the fourth step with an additional human review at the fifth step. While tools like Copilot accelerate these specific tasks, the original workflow, legacy architecture, and corporate culture remain completely intact.

He compared this approach to injecting growth hormones into a horse until it develops six-pack abs, noting that it remains a horse when the alternative is building a rocket. The core question he posed to C-level executives is whether they would design their company the same way today if they were building it from scratch with AI available from Day 1.
Executing an AI-Native Transformation requires more than adopting advanced technologies; it demands a fundamental review of business models and workflows so that organizational structures align with AI capabilities rather than merely layering tools over legacy processes.
Value creation from AI is categorized into three stages, with most Thai organizations having completed the deployment phase. In the reshaping phase, companies like IKEA have retrained approximately 8,500 call center agents to handle complex customer inquiries and serve as interior design consultants, adding greater value to customers.
Looking ahead over the next three years, Agentic AI is projected to become standard organizational infrastructure as intelligence costs continue to decline, potentially triggering structural disruptions in at least one major industry.
