Paris St-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is set to undergo knee surgery after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament during his side's 4-2 victory over Barcelona on Tuesday evening at Parc des Princes.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury following a challenge with Xavi Espart and was unable to bear weight on his right leg, forcing his substitution in the 59th minute of the Champions League fixture. PSG have not yet provided a definitive timeline for his recovery and return to competitive action.

Since arriving in the French capital from Napoli in January 2025, Kvaratskhelia has played an instrumental role in helping PSG secure back-to-back Champions League titles. The Georgia international has made 11 appearances for the club across all competitions this season.
An ACL rupture is widely considered one of the most challenging setbacks in professional football, often requiring extensive rehabilitation that spans many months, which will severely test PSG's squad depth during their European title defense.
Furthermore, the club confirmed that both Ousmane Dembele and Marquinhos will face spells on the sidelines for a few weeks. Dembele limped off with a left thigh issue, while Marquinhos picked up an injury to his right thigh.
The match had been deadlocked at 2-2 heading into the final ten minutes before the hosts struck twice late on to maintain their perfect start to their Champions League title defense, leaving them sitting comfortably at the top of the table with three wins from three matches.
