Waymo announced on Wednesday that its autonomous vehicles are now transporting customers to and from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. The company has established dedicated autonomous vehicle zones at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 to handle passenger pickups and dropoffs smoothly.
This development establishes the Las Vegas facility as the sixth major airport served by the autonomous driving company. Waymo has already established airport operations at Phoenix Sky Harbor, Nashville International, San Antonio International, San Francisco International, and San José International airports.
The company only recently introduced public rides in Las Vegas this past September, rapidly establishing coverage across a 24-square-mile area within the city. According to Waymo, trips traveling to and from the Las Vegas airport will initially be restricted to a limited number of riders before expanding availability to all customers.

Waymo's expansion into airport transportation highlights a strategic push into high-demand transit hubs where traditional ridesharing dominates. Securing airport access allows autonomous vehicle companies to capture lucrative business and tourist travel while demonstrating reliability in complex traffic environments.
Competition in Sin City's autonomous transport sector is intensifying rapidly. Amazon-owned Zoox already operates airport rides in Las Vegas, and additional robotaxis are preparing to enter the market. State regulators approved permits in August enabling Tesla and Uber to deploy thousands of autonomous vehicles on city streets over the coming year.
