- Saka sustained an injury in the 10th minute during the match against Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena.
- Mikel Arteta admits deep concern following the sharp pain experienced by the winger.
- Eberechi Eze came off the bench to replace him and scored the opening goal.
- Arsenal retain alternative wing options including Noni Madueke and Christos Tzolis.
During the Champions League fixture at the Allianz Arena, Arsenal suffered a major blow when their 25-year-old winger went down in the 10th minute without any player around him. He was immediately replaced by Eberechi Eze, who subsequently fired in the opening goal for the visiting side.
Manager Mikel Arteta spoke to TNT Sports regarding the setback, admitting that the team is quite concerned. A player forced off due to a sharp pain is never welcome news, and the club must wait for further assessments. The forward has previously dealt with multiple fitness setbacks, including an Achilles issue back in March and hamstring surgery in December 2024.
Despite losing one of their most influential players early on, the Gunners delivered a commendable performance and nearly secured a victory late in the match following Declan Rice's equalizer. Match of the Day pundit Nedum Onuoha noted that while the team will certainly miss the player's star power, their overall squad depth remains capable of filling the void.
"The only negative is seeing one of their star players, Saka, having to pull up with an injury early in the first half,"

As for tactical adjustments, Noni Madueke shifted from the left wing to the right and put in a bright display, while Eze capitalized on his chance from the bench. Furthermore, Arsenal boast additional attacking options such as summer signing Christos Tzolis and 16-year-old prospect Max Dowman, who already made his mark in the Premier League last term.
Losing a talismanic figure always tests a team's tactical framework, yet modern clubs with substantial investment rely heavily on positional versatility. Having players capable of swapping flanks or injecting high energy from the bench is precisely what allows managers to navigate through injury crises without losing momentum.

Arteta expressed satisfaction with his team's response against Bayern, specifically highlighting Eze's overall contribution, work rate off the ball, and the energy brought by substitutes to secure a vital result away from home.
