Recent controversy surrounding the deduction of allowances for junior police officers in Thailand's southern border provinces has sparked intense public debate, severely affecting the morale of personnel operating within security-sensitive zones over the weekend.

Reflecting on structural issues, Pol. Col. Tawee pointed out that past efforts to overhaul the police force could not yet be considered true reform. He then introduced a crucial guideline for organizational restructuring known as the '5-S' framework.

The proposed '5-S' framework consists of essential operational pillars: investigative work, inquiry/investigative procedures, patrol duties, human rights principles, and the most critical element of all—welfare.
Pol. Col. Tawee's focus on welfare and structural integrity in high-risk areas highlights ongoing human resource management challenges within the Royal Thai Police. In security-sensitive southern provinces, reducing allowances directly threatens operational effectiveness and long-term personnel retention.
The Prachachat Party leader firmly stressed that police officers risking their lives in dangerous operational areas deserve elevated welfare benefits commensurate with their hazards, rather than facing reduction orders that undermine their livelihood.
