Eco Expo Asia, the 21st installment of the prominent environmental technology exhibition in Hong Kong, marks a significant milestone in 2026 as Thailand joins alongside Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, and Vietnam as first-time ASEAN participants. This expansion reflects a deeper integration into regional markets, coinciding with China's rollout of its 15th Five-Year Plan and Hong Kong's inaugural Five-Year Plan focused on green economic transition.

The event officially opened on October 26 at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong under the theme Connecting the World for a Sustainable Future, co-organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Messe Frankfurt (HK), and the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government. This year features over 340 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions, alongside approximately 200 high-ranking officials and semi-governmental representatives.

The inclusion of ASEAN pavilions and the concurrent Belt and Road Green Innovation Conference underline Hong Kong's strategic role as a super-connector, bridging mainland China's environmental policies with global markets through professional services and green finance.

The exhibition's growth has pushed the number of pavilions to 18, highlighted by the debut of the ASEAN Pavilion which consolidates Singapore, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Twelve green technology enterprises from these nations are showcasing solutions spanning water treatment, circular economy, green finance, and ESG standards, alongside returning pavilions from Canada, Italy, South Korea, the Netherlands, and various Chinese provinces.
