Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has firmly stated that Bruno Fernandes is fully committed to the club and will continue to wear the captain's armband following constructive clear-the-air discussions between the pair.
Carrick previously dropped Fernandes to the substitutes' bench for Sunday's 3-0 home defeat against Bournemouth. The decision came after the Portuguese midfielder publicly questioned the team's tactics following a 4-1 Champions League loss away to Como.
That defeat by Bournemouth left the 45-year-old manager's future hanging by a thread. However, the club confirmed he will remain in the dugout for Saturday's upcoming Premier League fixture away at Chelsea.

The decision by United's leadership group—including the Glazer family, minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, chief executive Omar Berrada, and director of football Jason Wilcox—to back Carrick follows nearly 40 hours of deliberation after the Bournemouth match, coming amid a club-record drought of nine winless games stretching back to the 1988-89 campaign.
To move forward, Carrick and Fernandes held vital clear-the-air talks at United's Carrington training ground on Tuesday, putting any immediate friction behind them ahead of a demanding fixture schedule.
"We are clear with the situation of the team, and as a football club, he is an important player for this group. He has been and he will be."

Carrick is expected to remain in charge for next Tuesday's Champions League match against Roma and the Premier League encounter against Aston Villa at Old Trafford on November 8, just before a two-week international break. The manager emphasized that he does not require any guarantees regarding his position.
