Microsoft is rolling out a fresh set of updates for Windows 11 focused on improving gaming convenience and search functionality. Available through the latest Windows Insider builds, these enhancements aim to streamline everyday tasks and reduce interruptions during gaming sessions.
For gamers, the update introduces handy shortcuts while in Xbox mode. Players can now adjust settings such as Bluetooth, WiFi, and power options directly from the gaming interface, eliminating the need to minimize or exit the game entirely.

The search experience is also receiving a comprehensive overhaul. Users can filter their search results specifically for files, actions, or web queries. Furthermore, the search box can execute direct commands like adjusting screen brightness, changing volume levels, and managing a connected smartphone, which includes making phone calls.
This targeted update to Windows 11 highlights Microsoft's ongoing strategy to minimize user friction by centralizing device controls and search actions into a single hub. By bridging PC functionality with smartphone integration and granular search filters, Microsoft is narrowing the gap between desktop utility and mobile convenience.
Search results are now far more informative, displaying metadata such as file modification dates and authors, alongside live widgets like stock charts and weather forecasts. Users can also provide direct feedback to train the search algorithm by clicking inline thumbs-up or thumbs-down icons.
The complete list of updates is detailed on Microsoft's official blog. Both Beta Build 26220.9836 and Experimental Build 26340.9843 are currently available for Windows Insiders to test.
