Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (BDMS) has taken a major step in healthcare innovation by announcing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand on November 2, 2026, that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Royal Bangkok Healthcare Co., Ltd. (RBH), has entered an agreement to invest further in Cariva (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a medical AI technology developer, through a capital increase worth 100 million baht funded by internal cash flow.
Upon completion of the transaction, RBH's shareholding proportion in Cariva will increase significantly from 15% to 63.3%, making Cariva a direct subsidiary under the BDMS group.

Simultaneously, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) reported to the Stock Exchange on the same day that Cariva, previously its subsidiary, signed a Share Subscription Agreement with RBH for additional fundraising. Consequently, PTTEP's stake in Cariva will decrease from 85% to 36.7%, shifting Cariva's status from a subsidiary to an associate company. PTTEP noted that this investment restructuring aligns with its strategic management goals for Cariva's business operations, with the entire process expected to conclude within 2026.
BDMS explained that this investment aims to strengthen its capabilities in Healthcare AI, Clinical Intelligence, and Digital Health to further enhance the group's medical services. Cariva specializes in health technology, digital systems, and medical AI designed to support patient care and hospital workflows.
This strategic move highlights a growing trend of major conglomerates partnering with HealthTech startups in Thailand to integrate AI directly into clinical environments. By securing a majority stake, BDMS can seamlessly deploy and test Cariva's innovations across its extensive hospital network, accelerating the adoption of digital health solutions in the region.
Previously, BDMS invested in Cariva back in April 2024. Among Cariva's notable achievements is PreceptorAI, a medical chatbot on LINE launched in April 2023 designed to serve as an advisory and decision-support tool for medical personnel. Another key innovation is the Lab Interpretation Solution, an AI tool assisting in laboratory result analysis, which has been tested at the Health Design Center of Bangkok Hospital.
