- Uefa set a deadline for Fifa to release details regarding the FFE proposal by November 2.
- Gianni Infantino informed council members to register to view the paperwork within two weeks.
- The disputes cover governance issues and the awarding of a peace prize to Donald Trump.
- The pressure mounts ahead of the November 18 presidential election nomination deadline.
The governing body of world football faces mounting pressure as Fifa prepares to share confidential documents related to the hugely controversial Fifa Forward Enterprise proposal. This comes after Uefa demanded transparency regarding governance and decision-making processes.
The move follows a council meeting where Fifa president Gianni Infantino apologized for the abandoned sell-off plot. However, he stopped short of offering a full explanation for how the scheme was devised, requesting instead that all inquiries be submitted in writing.

According to a letter seen by BBC Sport, the paperwork will be made accessible under strict review protocols designed to preserve confidentiality. Council members have been instructed to register their intent to examine the documents within the next two weeks, though the exact documents to be released remain unclear.
The Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal has sparked significant governance controversy within international football administration. Because major strategic pivots and commercial sell-off plans require rigorous oversight, the lack of initial transparency triggered severe backlash from Uefa and regional associations, tying regulatory scrutiny directly into the upcoming presidential election cycle.
Fifa insiders noted that responding to over 100 detailed questions within a two-week window was deemed unfeasible due to concurrent logistical demands, including organizing a youth World Cup in Azerbaijan and preparing for an extraordinary congress.
Complicating matters further, Uefa launched legal proceedings in the United States last October seeking evidence and document disclosures, alongside warnings that criminal complaints could be lodged in Switzerland.
"These questions require answers now. They cannot be deferred until the next meeting of the Fifa Council - nor can future governance reforms substitute for scrutiny of decisions already taken and accountability for them."
Uefa
The eight-page letter sent by Uefa covers an array of critical issues, ranging from FFE funding and national association impacts to the awarding of an inaugural Fifa Peace Prize to former US President Donald Trump, as well as the controversial suspended ban given to US striker Folarin Balogun.
While Uefa stopped short of specifying potential repercussions if the deadline is missed, the maneuver is widely seen as an effort to apply maximum pressure on Infantino ahead of November 18, the final cut-off date for candidates wishing to contest next year's presidential election.
