Barcelona-based smart TV operating system developer Titan OS has announced a new funding round of $46 million, combining both equity and debt financing to fuel its international expansion and technological development.
The fresh capital is supported by debt facilities managed by funds and accounts at BlackRock, alongside returning investors Highland Europe and Mangrove Capital Partners. Having previously secured $58 million last year, the startup has now accumulated a total of $110 million in funding. Company executives noted that while they could have opted for slower organic growth without raising funds, their ambitious vision required securing capital to forge new partnerships and scale across global geographies.

Titan OS offers television manufacturers a compelling value proposition by integrating an operating system that unlocks alternative revenue streams through free ad-supported television (FAST channels) and on-screen advertising. The company's user base has now climbed to 30 million active users, a substantial leap from the 18 million recorded the previous year.
Compared to the previous year, the startup has successfully onboarded major hardware partners including Sharp, AOC, Vestel, and Skyworth. Notably, its partnership with Dutch electronics giant Philips has proven successful, with Philips transitioning its 2026 models to Titan OS and moving away from Google TV. This broader market coverage provides advertisers with an expanded audience footprint and deeper engagement metrics.
"What differentiates us here from the walled gardens is that we do not have our own content offering. Like Google is trying to channel people to YouTube. We do not have that, and we are impartial in our role in content discovery. We are working and trying to reduce time spent searching,"
Tobias Pfalzgraff, SVP of people and marketing at Titan OS
The migration of television manufacturers toward third-party operating systems like Titan OS highlights a broader industry shift. As hardware costs rise due to AI integrations and traditional gadget sales slow down, TV makers are increasingly prioritizing long-term recurring revenue models. Operating system platforms offer these hardware brands a vital avenue to maintain profitability in a highly competitive market dominated by tech giants.
Over the past year, the company has scaled its team to 250 employees and opened a dedicated advertising office in London, supplementing its existing offices in Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Taipei. With the newly acquired funds, Titan OS plans to focus heavily on content discovery challenges by tweaking user interfaces and integrating artificial intelligence to streamline recommendations and ad segmentation.
