Meta is rolling out a brand-new capability within its Muse AI assistant, enabling users to construct customized, app-like experiences from scratch. Dubbed “spaces,” this feature allows the AI assistant to assemble tailored hubs such as shopping centers, school dashboards, music trackers, and trivia games, all of which users can interact with directly inside the Muse application.
According to the company, generating a new space requires nothing more than describing the desired concept in text. When users link external services to Muse—including Gmail, Google Calendar, OpenTable, and Notion—the AI assistant continuously pulls background data to automatically refresh pricing, dates, and other relevant metrics inside the space. Individuals can also directly manipulate items within these spaces by checking off task lists, inputting notes, and executing edits.

In addition to creation tools, Meta grants users full control over where and when these spaces appear within the application interface, offering options to pin them to the sidebar, shift them to the main tab, or schedule their visibility.
Meta's introduction of spaces signifies a strategic shift from traditional conversational AI chatbots toward modular productivity environments. By allowing users to assemble personalized micro-tools on the fly and synchronize them with external workspace apps, Meta is transforming its AI assistant into a centralized operating layer for daily organization.
For instance, Meta notes that users can keep a weekly planner prominent during standard workdays and automatically transition to weekend itinerary trackers on Saturdays. Concurrently, the corporation announced the integration of brand-new “Active Memory” and “Active Focus” features derived from its Muse Wonder AI model into both the Muse app and the standard Meta AI chatbot, enhancing the system's contextual awareness and goal-oriented execution.
Meta is currently distributing the spaces update to all Muse users globally while investigating future pathways to enable collaborative sharing of custom spaces among multiple accounts.
