Hugo Keenan scored a hat-trick of tries as Ireland opened the home leg of the Nations Championship with a commanding bonus-point victory over Argentina in Dublin, setting a strong tone for their autumn campaign under head coach Andy Farrell.
The match began with a surprise setback for the hosts when Argentina's Tomas Albornoz kicked deep to the corner, allowing winger Mateo Carreras to leap above Ireland scrum-half Craig Casey and claim the opening try for the visitors.

However, Ireland quickly responded as Casey recovered from his early mismatch to win a crucial turnover penalty. The home backline then unlocked the Pumas defence, with Rob Baloucoune tearing through midfield to feed Mack Hansen, who set up Keenan for his first try of the evening.
Argentina's indiscipline and struggles at the set-piece proved costly as the match progressed. Before halftime, the visitors lost outside centre Justo Piccardo to a yellow card and captain Julian Montoya to a failed head injury assessment, leaving them trailing 21-5.

Early in the second half, fly-half Sam Prendergast sliced through the Argentina defence for his first international try to secure the bonus point. Keenan subsequently completed his hat-trick following an offload from Ryan Baird, before Ronan Kelleher added a final maul try.
This dominant performance serves as an essential bounce-back for Andy Farrell's side following their summer struggles against New Zealand, establishing a solid platform ahead of upcoming fixtures against Fiji and world champions South Africa.
