Jon Rahm captured the Abu Dhabi Championship title after delivering a stellar five-under-par 67 in the final round, holding off a fierce challenge from England's Tyrrell Hatton to win by two strokes. The victory marks his first triumph in a DP World Tour event in four years following his departure from LIV Golf.
The Spanish star, competing in his first tournament since the birth of his fourth child last month, carded six birdies against just a single bogey on Sunday. This performance earned him his sixth Rolex Series title and placed him comfortably ahead of the chasing pack at the summit of the leaderboard.
Throughout Sunday's back nine, several of Rahm's Ryder Cup teammates including Hatton, Rory McIlroy, and Italy's Francesco Laporta applied intense pressure. Laporta, chasing his maiden DP World Tour victory, shared the lead at the turn before slipping down the leaderboard to finish fourth, six shots off the pace.

"Except a shot on 17, as far as I'm concerned, I played a pretty flawless back nine. It was really solid, never in danger of making a bogey except that one hole."

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy secured a third-place finish, four strokes behind the winner, which lifts him to second in the Race To Dubai standings ahead of the season-finale. The 37-year-old is seeking a record-equalling eighth season-long title, currently trailing only Spain's Eugenio Chacarra.
This victory represents a remarkable turnaround for Jon Rahm, especially following his disappointing finish at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in his previous appearance. Bouncing back from last to first highlights his resilience and championship pedigree on the international stage.
Tyrrell Hatton made a strong push with four birdies in his final-round 68, coming within a single shot of the lead on the 15th hole. However, Rahm responded brilliantly with a birdie of his own and safely holed his putt on the final green to seal the championship.
