Princess Sirivannavari Leads Marine Conservation Exhibition to Protect Thailand's Oceans

Under the core philosophy that major transformations begin with every individual, a nationwide marine conservation exhibition has launched to inspire youth and citizens of all ages to protect Thailand's precious aquatic ecosystems. This initiative carries forward the deep conservation legacy passed down from Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

“Love the sea... and the sea will love us” was the royal handwriting bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya during the grand opening of the “YOUNG Rักษ์ทะเล SEA THE CHANGE” exhibition at NEX Hall, 5th Floor, Siam Paragon. The event aims to provide an interactive space where visitors can learn, take action, and unite in restoring Thailand's marine environments.

Breaking away from conventional exhibits, the showcase utilizes an Immersive Emotional Experience concept, blending lights, sounds, motion graphics, and physical artifacts to take audiences from breathtaking underwater wonders to severe ecological threats through 10 distinct zones:

• Welcome Zone: Immersing visitors in a breathtaking underwater atmosphere.
• Under World (Symphony of the Blue): Showcasing giant glowing jellyfish (Giant Jellyfish) symbolizing natural grace.
• Surround Screen (The Silent Crisis): A 360-degree screen contrasting pristine marine life with plastic waste coral graveyards.
• Royal Legacy Zone: Tracing long-term sea turtle conservation efforts at Man Nai Island.
• HOPE Zone: Highlighting coral restoration success and the Upcycling for Life initiative turning ocean trash into eco-products.
• PEOPLE Zone: Featuring a large naval ship model honoring the Royal Thai Navy's protective missions.
• LIFE Zone: Exploring biodiversity and the profound microscopic threats of microplastics.
• THREAT Zone: A pollution simulator room revealing invisible chemical contaminants.
• ACTION Zone: Displaying historic recovery operations including the MV.AYAR LINN vessel salvage and Surin Islands coral restoration.
• EMOTION EMOTION (Marine ER): A simulated emergency rescue lab featuring real sea turtle heart monitor sounds.

The event also hosts over 30 activities, including coral conservation workshops, upcycled craft sessions, expert panels, and a community green market, alongside a digital registration system to enlist as official Thai ocean guardians. The exhibition is free to visit until August 12, 2026, with registration available via Google Forms and updates on the Thai Coral Reef and Marine Life Conservation Foundation Facebook page.
