Keely Hodgkinson is set to prove she remains the undisputed queen of the track following a challenging outdoor season, as she prepares to face world-class competitors in pursuit of her third consecutive European 800m title in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The 24-year-old Olympic champion has enjoyed plenty of milestones to celebrate throughout 2026, which include breaking the long-standing indoor 800m world record, clinching her maiden world title, and improving her own British outdoor record.

However, her path to dominance hit a minor roadblock when she had to settle for second place behind Audrey Werro at the Stockholm Diamond League. The 22-year-old Swiss athlete clocked the fastest time seen since the outdoor world record was set 43 years ago.
The intensity of the race escalated further with the presence of Femke Broeders-Bol, the Dutch two-time world 400m hurdles champion who has opted to switch disciplines for this season, turning Friday night's women's 800m into a must-watch showdown.
