- Phromphong urges Anutin to thoroughly investigate local exam corruption
- Demands scrutiny across three paths: system, money, and individuals
- Calls on the Ministry of Interior to restore fairness to honest candidates
Mr. Phromphong Nopparit has stepped forward to urge Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to thoroughly investigate irregularities in local government examinations, stating that addressing problematic candidate lists is only half the battle while the public demands answers on who engineered the system failures.
The government and the Ministry of Interior must urgently tackle two key fronts simultaneously. First, restoring opportunities for honest test-takers is vital so that conscientious individuals do not suffer for wrongdoing they did not commit. Once a new candidate list is compiled, qualified applicants who passed based on merit, criteria, and available vacancies must be swiftly appointed without delay.
"กระทรวงมหาดไทยเริ่มมาถูกทางแล้ว แต่ต้องเดินให้สุด อย่าจบแค่ตัดรายชื่อ อย่าจบแค่ปลายแถว และอย่าปล่อยให้คนสอบสุจริตเป็นผู้รับกรรม หากหลักฐานไปถึงผู้บงการ ผู้ได้ประโยชน์ หรือบุคคลระดับใด ต้องดำเนินการถึงคนนั้น"

Second, authorities must thoroughly investigate across three distinct pathways: the system path, the financial path, and the personnel path. The system audit must identify vulnerabilities, access privileges, and control breakdowns to permanently close loopholes.

Regarding the financial path, any evidence or suspicion of illicit gains must be aggressively pursued using the full force of the law. As for the personnel path, every linked individual—from low-level officials to middlemen—must face accountability wherever the evidence leads.
Civil service exam corruption is a persistent issue undermining meritocracy within Thailand's public administration. Demanding systematic multi-angle investigations highlights structural accountability reforms aimed at restoring public trust in governmental recruitment processes rather than superficial fixes.
Mr. Phromphong concluded that the Interior Minister must ensure hard work and genuine capability outweigh connections and financial influence, transforming this crackdown into a milestone for restoring justice and institutional credibility in Thailand.
