The Prime Minister revealed progress in attracting foreign investment, stating that two major business enterprises from New Zealand, T&G Global and Skyline Enterprises, have expressed their firm intentions to invest in Thailand, marking a strong positive signal for the nation's economy and regional hub status.
Regarding T&G Global, an apple export-focused fruit business, the company generates over 3 billion baht in annual sales solely within Thailand and approximately 100 billion baht globally. Although the firm does not grow apples in New Zealand, it possesses genetic technology and sources produce worldwide. The company views Thailand as an optimal strategic location to serve as a distribution base reaching the ASEAN, Indian, and Middle Eastern markets.
T&G Global's investment plan consists of two phases. The first phase focuses on utilizing Thailand as a distribution hub for high-volume products facing constant demand. In the second phase, the company is interested in introducing genetic technology to research whether local farmers can cultivate apples domestically. This collaboration aims to boost agricultural productivity, leveraging Thailand's existing agricultural technology and expertise for mutual benefit.

In a one-on-one discussion with Skyline Enterprises, the Prime Minister noted that the company brought blueprints for an indoor amusement park to review. The firm is currently negotiating with confidential local partners in Thailand. Because the business requires a substantial amount of land, they are carefully evaluating whether to collaborate in pre-existing ready-to-use locations or secure a brand new site. Ultimately, Skyline Enterprises has officially decided to proceed with its investment in Thailand.
The decision by New Zealand giants T&G Global and Skyline Enterprises to invest in Thailand highlights the country's strategic geographical advantages and robust supply chain potential. T&G's entry not only reinforces Thailand as a food logistics hub, but its potential second-phase crop genetics transfer could also elevate Thai agriculture. Meanwhile, Skyline Enterprises' indoor amusement park investment will further diversify Thailand's tourism and indoor entertainment sectors, enhancing its appeal to visitors.
