Top Best-Selling EVs in Thailand: BYD Dominates the Market

The electric vehicle market in Thailand spanning 2024 through early 2025 has experienced fierce competition, heavily influenced by an ongoing price war. This pricing battle has significantly shaped registration numbers and consumer preferences, with major Chinese automakers continuously introducing clean-energy vehicles alongside aggressive discount campaigns.

Leading the market is the BYD Dolphin, developed on the e-Platform 3.0. It features compact body dimensions with a 2,700 mm wheelbase, offering a remarkably spacious cabin. Powered by a single motor in the Standard Range variant, its acceleration easily outperforms traditional 1.2-liter gasoline eco-cars. It recorded 13,386 registrations, claiming the number one spot without peer. The Standard Range is priced at 499,900 baht, while the Extended Range is set at 599,900 baht.

Meanwhile, the BYD Atto 3 5-door crossover, on the market for over three years, utilizes a proprietary 60.48 kWh Blade Battery (LFP). It delivers 201 horsepower, 310 Nm of torque, and an estimated range of 480 kilometers per full charge. It accumulated 7,747 total registrations to rank fifth. The New BYD ATTO 3 Premium is currently offered at a special price of 699,900 baht, while the Extended variant costs 799,900 baht, including an ABB home charger.
