At least 15 people have lost their lives following a devastating double-tap drone strike launched by Russian forces against a major shopping centre located in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih, according to local officials.
Oleksandr Hanzha, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, stated that the confirmed death toll reached 15, which includes two individuals who succumbed to their injuries later in the hospital. Furthermore, approximately 130 people sustained injuries during the blast, among them 23 children, with 29 victims reported to be in serious condition.
Dramatic video footage verified by the BBC captured the terrifying moment a second drone struck the already burning shopping complex within the Dnipropetrovsk region. Specialized rescue teams originating from four other Ukrainian regions were urgently dispatched to assist local crews in searching for survivors trapped underneath the wreckage.

The local mayor added that numerous individuals remained unaccounted for and were failing to respond to telephone calls. Specially trained psychological support teams were also deployed to the scene to assist survivors coping with the immediate trauma of the assault.

In addition to the strike in Kryvyi Rih, separate Russian attacks in the southern Mykolaiv region killed four people, including three children, while two more fatalities were reported in the north-eastern Kharkiv region. In the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, three individuals were injured after a drone detonated near a taxi. These incidents occurred just a day after a massive missile and drone assault on Kyiv killed 17 people, injuring over 40 others and damaging residential apartment blocks, warehouses, a school, and a children's hospital.
