Australia staged a strong recovery following their shock defeat last week, crushing Bangladesh by an innings and 51 runs in the second Test to level the two-match series 1-1.
The visitors were skittled out for 95 runs in 38.3 overs, allowing Australia to wrap up the victory just after tea on the second day at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay. This encounter entered the history books as the fourth-shortest completed Test match with a decisive winner, featuring exactly 125 overs bowled throughout.
Left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc led the bowling attack brilliantly, finishing with match figures of 10-51 after previously taking 6-12 in the first innings when Bangladesh were restricted to 64 all out. Captain Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon also contributed significantly by picking up three wickets each in the second innings.

Earlier in the match, Australia added 45 runs to their overnight score to be bowled out for 210, with Cameron Green top-scoring with 67 runs and Nathan Lyon adding an unbeaten 32 to establish a first-innings lead of 146 runs. Bangladesh struggled from the outset of their second innings, losing both opening batters quickly.
A Test match concluding within just two days is a rare occurrence in international cricket, as the format is traditionally designed to span up to five days. With this victory, Starc climbed to 10th place on the all-time Test wicket list with 445 scalps. Australia will now look forward to their upcoming three-match tour against world Test champions South Africa scheduled for October.
