Sweden School Sword Attack: 17-Year-Old Girl Killed

A 17-year-old girl has tragically lost her life following a deadly sword attack at a high school in central Sweden, local police have confirmed. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community as students had just returned to their classrooms.

The attack unfolded on Friday afternoon at the Brinell School located in Fagersta. According to local authorities, two boys aged 12 and 17 sustained serious injuries during the assault, while another individual suffered minor injuries. Students had only recently resumed classes following the summer break.

Law enforcement officers successfully arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the incident, though his identity has not been publicly released. Police stated they are treating the case as murder and attempted murder. Sweden's public broadcaster reported that the suspect wore a helmet during the attack, with local media adding he was a former student.

On Saturday morning, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson visited the school to lay floral tributes in honor of the victims. Investigators have since conducted two separate house searches linked to the suspect.
