Beau Greaves has captured the Women's World Matchplay crown for the third time following a nail-biting final-leg decider against Fallon Sherrock at Blackpool's Winter Gardens.
The top seed from Doncaster was pushed to her absolute limits by Sherrock. Although Greaves initially built a 5-3 advantage, she let her lead slip before ultimately holding her nerve to secure a 6-5 victory.

In a tense deciding leg, Sherrock applied immense pressure by hitting a maximum 180. However, the 22-year-old replied instantly with a maximum of her own, followed by a 145 set-up before taking out 56 to seal the championship.
"To hit that last dart was just an outpouring of relief. I am just so happy to win."
Both finalists arrived via contrasting paths, with Sherrock dropping only a single leg on her way to the final and defeating defending champion Lisa Ashton 5-1 in the semis. Yet, a first title since the tournament's inaugural 2022 event continues to elude her as she finished runner-up for the third year in a row.
The Women's World Matchplay represents a pivotal platform for elite female darters, highlighting the intense mental fortitude required at the professional level. Greaves' ongoing dominance at just 22 years old underscores a historic shift in women's professional darts, building on her breakthrough achievements against top male players earlier in the season.
For Greaves, a three-time women's world champion, this latest triumph caps off a remarkable year. Back in April, she made history as the first woman to win a PDC ranking title by defeating Michael Smith, and earlier in February, she became the first woman to hit a nine-dart finish on the PDC ProTour against Mensur Suljovic.
