The Office of the Election Commission has issued a clarification regarding statements made by former election commissioner Somchai Srisutthiyakorn on Facebook and subsequent media reports suggesting that the agency appointed Nattavut Wongniem to serve as a member of the 12th sub-committee for diagnosing problems and disputes. The commission stated that these reports were inaccurate.
According to the official explanation, following Nattavut Wongniem's initial appointment to the 12th sub-committee, the ECT office sent an official request to the Office of the Attorney General asking for cooperation to have an official assist with the duties.

Subsequently, the Office of the Attorney General sent a written response to the ECT on April 19, 2019, informing them that Nattavut had already ceased to be a career prosecutor. Consequently, the ECT office proceeded to appoint another individual to replace him.
