S+DLH and VASTO gallery Unite Art and Design in Capsule 04

Madrid-based architecture studio S+DLH has kicked off an ongoing collaboration with Poblenou-based home gallery VASTO, founded by Carmen Riestra. Rather than treating art as a mere finishing touch after an interior is completed, the partnership integrates VASTO-represented works directly into future residential and commercial projects by the studio. Capsule 04 serves as the initial experiment in this shared language, connecting both practices through materiality, atmosphere, and spatial perception.

The exhibition unfolds inside the S+DLH space in Madrid, featuring three distinct artists from the VASTO programme.

• Pol Agustí: Based between Barcelona and Mexico City, he works with clay and recovered materials, using low-temperature firing to preserve traces of gesture and fire.
• Max Milà Serra: A Barcelona-based artist focusing on minimal structures that combine engineering, light, and perception to quietly recalibrate a room's atmosphere.
• Esther Gatón: Works across sculpture, installation, audiovisual media, and text, notably using hand-dyed linen produced through slow, non-repeatable processes.

Alongside the VASTO artists, S+DLH introduces pieces from its own design practice, featuring objects shown publicly for the first time alongside items recovered from years of archiving. Under the subtitle Selected to live inside architecture, art, furniture, and lighting coexist freely, creating interiors that feel genuinely assembled rather than artificially styled.
