On August 25, 2026, at 09:50 AM at Government House, Mr. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, Chairman of the Prime Minister's Advisory Board and advisor to the special representatives committee for southern border provinces, discussed reviewing the situation in Thailand's deep south ahead of the cabinet meeting.
Wan Noor stated that all parties concluded that resolving the insurgency requires genuine cooperation across every sector, including security agencies, the Ministry of Interior, the Royal Thai Police, and the general public, particularly local community leaders such as village and sub-district heads.

He further admitted that past integration of operations was insufficient, with various agencies working independently, and noted some miscalculations in situation assessment. Although insurgent forces are relatively small in number, he emphasized that authorities must not be complacent and must assess conditions realistically.
