The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has released the official calendar of events and festivals for August 2026, inviting travelers to explore a diverse range of local culinary experiences, cultural showcases, and entertainment events across the country.
Kicking off the month from 30 July to 2 August 2026 at the Chan Royal Palace in Phitsanulok, visitors can enjoy a relaxed outdoor food and lifestyle festival celebrating authentic local flavors. Meanwhile, in Phrae at the King Rama IX Commemorative Health Park from 31 July to 2 August 2026, a creative lifestyle festival highlights the province's Soft Power through textiles, coffee, and contemporary Lanna culture.

For sports and history enthusiasts, a unique night running festival takes place at Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya from 1 to 2 August 2026, combining a road race with light installations and cultural entertainment. In Suphan Buri, the Dan Chang District Office hosts a week-long Mother's Day community celebration from 6 to 12 August 2026 featuring local products and family activities.
Prachuap Khiri Khan hosts seaside festivities from 7 to 9 August 2026 at Maharaj Club Grounds and Lan Maharaj in Pak Nam Pran, featuring renowned sun-dried squid, fresh seafood, and the Mini Balloon Festival 2026 @ Pranburi with colorful hot-air balloons and nighttime glows.
The diverse spread of events scheduled for August 2026 highlights a strategic push to promote secondary destinations and local communities through niche festivals—such as the Pha Khrang natural textile showcase in Lampang and the Peranakan heritage event in Phuket—effectively transforming traditional craftsmanship into modern experiential tourism.
Chiang Mai features multiple events under the 'Feel All the Feelings' campaign, starting with an open-air runway at Rin Kham Intersection on 8 August 2026, followed by a contemporary Lanna omakase dining experience at Villa Uchi on 16 August, and an electronic dance music fusion event at Fur Cafe on 22 August 2026. Bangkok hosts an international pantomime performing arts festival at Muang Thai Life Assurance Auditorium on 8–9 August.
Travelers in Bangkok can also visit one of Thailand's largest domestic travel fairs at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (Exhibition Hall 5-6, Level LG) from 20 to 23 August 2026. The month concludes with a week-long Peranakan cultural experience in Phuket Old Town from 23 to 29 August 2026.
