Pol. Capt. Dr. Atittaya Benjapak, widely known as Captain Cat and a former 2nd runner-up in Miss Thailand, has stepped down from government service to focus entirely on her private businesses. Operating under Cat Unique Co., Ltd. in the cosmetics sector, she has also taken on a major role as the official license holder to organize the Miss Thailand pageant for three consecutive years, spanning from 2027 to 2029, which recently sparked online criticism and allegations of nepotism.
In an exclusive interview with Thairath Entertainment, she firmly denied any foul play or special connections in acquiring the rights. She explained that the Association of Miss Thailand released documents outlining the application process for the 2027-2029 organizer role. Her company formally submitted its intent and underwent a rigorous evaluation and presentation process based strictly on the association's established standards.
Securing a national pageant license requires substantial capital, experienced personnel, and a clear strategic vision. When a former contestant and pageant titleholder transitions into the organizing role, it reflects an insider's perspective combined with corporate management, though it naturally draws public scrutiny regarding transparency and fair competition.
Dr. Atittaya noted that her firsthand experience as a contestant gave her valuable insight into areas needing improvement, which successfully aligned with the association's goals during the presentation round. Although she did not expect to win the bid, she gave her utmost effort. Following the announcement, her team has accelerated preparations, leading up to an official press conference on September 2nd to unveil the new direction of Miss Thailand under the theme 'The Golden Era' and open doors for future partners and sponsors.

Addressing rumors that her success might be attributed to superstitious rituals or amulet worship, she clarified that she does not rely on fortune-seeking practices. While she respects religious traditions and prays normally, she attributes her achievements entirely to hard work, dedication, and making the most of every opportunity to demonstrate continuous personal growth to her supporters.
"No rituals at all. Honestly, it depends on personal belief, but I am not someone who relies on superstition. It's not about disrespecting anything; I pay my respects to Buddha as usual. But as for going to specific sacred places for luck, I don't do that. I focus on working hard and giving my absolute best in every opportunity given to me."

Regarding her entertainment career, Captain Cat confirmed that she remains active in the industry. Prompted by fan requests during her appearance at an FM90 Lukthung Rak Thai concert, she is preparing a new music single alongside her ongoing folk-fantasy musical projects. Furthermore, she has completed filming for a Channel 7 sapphic Yuri series titled 'Hug Na My Boss', starring alongside Yoshi Rinrada and Diana Flipo, in which she plays the villain role, in addition to an unannounced traditional folklore drama.
Concluding with her relationship status, she admitted that she is completely single and not prioritizing romance, as her hectic work schedule leaves her with barely any rest. She travels everywhere in a group of three and humorously noted that while she is open to suitors, they must first pass approval through her manager.
