On August 30, Mr. Chaichana Decho, a party-list Member of Parliament for the Democrat Party, addressed the active performance of Deputy Interior Minister Pholpee Suwanachawi (Interior 2) and Mr. Vorasit Liengprasert (Interior 4) regarding their recent operations to suppress scammer rings and Chinese grey-market businesses, noting that their dedicated efforts have yielded concrete results appreciated by the public.
Mr. Chaichana highlighted that a prime example of this success was the recent official inspection and enforcement action taken against a KTV establishment located in the Huai Khwang district. The venue was found operating unlawfully, serving as a clear demonstration of law enforcement cracking down on businesses tied to foreign capital and illegal gatherings.
"I would like to commend Interior 2 and Interior 4 for working earnestly on this matter, because the problems of scammers, grey capital, and unlawful foreign business operations directly impact national security, the economy, and Thailand's tourism image."

Furthermore, Mr. Chaichana urged both deputy ministers to urgently expand their on-site inspections to major tourist destinations across the country, including Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and other key tourism hubs, in order to reorganize entertainment venues operating without proper legal authorization.
The suppression of transnational grey capital and scam networks is critical for Thailand as criminal organizations frequently attempt to use the country as a base for money laundering and cyber fraud operations. Restructuring nightlife regulations and cracking down on proxy businesses are vital steps to safeguard the national economy and rebuild foreign tourist confidence.
He added that authorities must also scrutinize foreign business ventures that exploit legal loopholes, emphasizing that enforcement cannot be limited to isolated spots but must cover all tourism-heavy areas to check business licenses, employment practices, and illicit activities.
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Chaichana stressed that combating scammers and grey capital requires persistent, proactive operations to ensure Thailand does not become an operational base for transnational criminal syndicates, alongside strict and equal enforcement of the law for everyone.
