Threads users can now chat with Meta AI in their DMs

Although Threads users in select markets could already interact with Meta AI in public posts in a manner similar to how people use Grok on X, this new integration allows users to converse with the AI assistant in a private setting.

Users who prefer seeing fewer Meta AI replies in their feeds can mute @meta.ai, select the "Not interested" option on any Meta AI post, or hide Meta AI replies appearing on their own posts. By deepening this integration, Meta is positioning Threads as a comprehensive hub for information and recommendations without requiring users to leave the application.
