Border tension developments on September 1, 2026, prompted ACM Prapas Sonchaidee, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force and Director of the Thailand-Cambodia Situation Information Center, known as JIC, to issue a strong response. His statement addressed remarks made by Heng Ratana, acting government representative and Director General of the Cambodian Mine Action Centre, or CMAC, who claimed that the AOT committee and military attachés acknowledged damage caused by Thailand's alleged use of MK-84 bombs, cluster munitions, and chemical weapons.
The Thai JIC Director clarified that a clear distinction must be made, pointing out that listening to information provided by one side is entirely different from endorsing those accusations. He formally challenged Cambodia to release the official AOT report so that the international community can thoroughly examine the facts.

ACM Prapas further highlighted standard international observation principles, stating explicitly that presence does not equate to endorsement, and mere observation does not equal verification. Therefore, using the participation of international observers to claim they validated the accusations is a misinterpretation of their actual role.
Disputes involving allegations of heavy weaponry and chemical agent deployment are sensitive international issues requiring rigorous forensic evidence and neutral third-party verification.
