Opening batter Maia Bouchier struck a brilliant 104 off 95 balls, securing England's highest-ever chase in women's ODIs with 11.5 overs to spare. Bouchier added 143 for the first wicket with Sophia Dunkley, who contributed 73 runs.

Alice Capsey and Freya Kemp wrapped up the remaining runs with a quickfire 54-run stand off 38 balls, with Capsey hitting the winning boundary to finish unbeaten on 41, giving England a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Despite poor fielding from Ireland earlier in the match, their batters put up a competitive total of 281-5 from 50 overs, featuring half-centuries from captain Gaby Lewis (69), Amy Hunter (62), and Rebecca Stokell (54 not out).
