British number one Katie Boulter experienced a bitterly disappointing outing at the US Open second round, exiting the tournament after a swift 6-1, 6-0 defeat against Czech seventh seed Karolina Muchova in just 58 minutes.
The encounter was originally scheduled for one of the outside courts at Flushing Meadows in New York, but persistent heavy rain forced organizers to relocate the matchup into the 14,000-capacity Louis Armstrong Stadium.
Supporters who had secured tickets for the day session saw their excitement turn to frustration as Boulter struggled throughout the contest, admitting afterward that she failed to adapt to the venue's roof, crowd noise, and environmental conditions.
Boulter's serving woes heavily contributed to the lopsided scoreline, as she hit eight double faults, failed to land a single ace, and converted just 33% of points behind her first serve. She also racked up 22 unforced errors compared to only four winners.

In contrast, Wimbledon runner-up Muchova controlled the pace smoothly, firing 14 winners while committing only nine unforced errors, utilizing clever drop shots and deep groundstrokes to overwhelm the British player.
