Razer’s analog Huntsman V3 Pro keyboard gets a 20 percent discount on Amazon

While gaming keyboards have traditionally stuck with mechanical switches despite adding RGB lighting and extra media dials, the industry is gradually shifting toward adjustable optical switches that offer higher customization and faster response times. Brad Bourque reports that the wired, compact Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL is currently discounted on Amazon, dropping from its standard price of $159.99 down to $124.99.

Unlike traditional mechanical switches, optical switches continuously measure the exact height of every single key press, enabling capabilities that older designs cannot support. Users have the ability to configure the activation height for individual keys, setting it as shallow as 0.1mm for ultra-light touches or as deep as 4mm for keys that need to avoid accidental presses. Furthermore, the keys can reset without having to travel all the way back to the top, allowing for much quicker repeated keystrokes during intense gaming sessions.

Similar to other advanced optical keyboards on the market, this model features a Razer function known as Snap Tap. This setting allows players to prioritize specific key inputs over others, making it easier to rapidly shift back and forth between strafing keys in first-person shooter titles. The feature comes disabled by default and faces restrictions in certain games like Counter-Strike 2, but it can be toggled directly on the keyboard hardware or through the Razer Synapse application.
