Samsung has officially partnered with Mistral AI to deploy on-premises models across its semiconductor manufacturing facilities and engineering operations. The strategic agreement was revealed during the bilateral state summit held in Paris between South Korea and France.
Under the agreement, Samsung will integrate Mistral’s software suite, which includes its flagship Mistral Large model, directly into internal facilities to construct customised models designed for intelligence-driven factory infrastructure.
Choosing private enterprise installations over public cloud solutions highlights the strict data governance required in semiconductor manufacturing, where proprietary engineering records and manufacturing formulas are fiercely guarded trade secrets.
