The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is organizing a bulky waste collection initiative scheduled for September 12-13, 2026, spanning 32 district offices across the capital. The program aims to assist residents in disposing of large unwanted items, such as old furniture, large home appliances, construction materials, and oversized sports equipment, completely free of charge.
To prepare for the service, residents must place their bulky waste items in front of their residences before 08:30 AM. District officials will then collect the items between 09:00 AM and 12:00 PM on the designated dates for each respective area.
The scheduled collection locations across the participating districts on September 12-13 include:
- Khlong San District: Community behind Kulsiri School
- Khlong Sam Wa District: KC Garden Home Village 4, Nimit Mai 40 Alley
- Khan Na Yao District: Thanasin Village 9
- Don Mueang District: The Connect Village 7/1, Cherdvudhagard 47 Alley
- Thung Khru District: Nillada Village, Baan Suan Village 72, Baan Suan Village 72 Phase 2, Kanokkul Village, and the community under Pracha Uthit 76 Alley bridge
- Thon Buri District: Wat Yai Sri Suphan Community, Hiran Ruchi Sub-district
- Bang Kapi District: Wat Phra Kraisi (Noi) temple, Ramkhamhaeng 23 Alley
- Bang Rak District: Wat Maha Phrutharam Alley Community
- Bueng Kum District: Supalai Ville Village, Nuan Chan 64 Alley
- Pathum Wan District: Soi Ruamrudee Community, Soi Polo Community

Before disposing of the items, the BMA recommends that residents properly sort their bulky waste. Items exceeding 1 meter in length, such as large furniture or sports equipment, should be cut into shorter pieces, while heavy items ought to be disassembled and securely bundled with smaller waste components.
The collection procedure involves:
- Bringing the waste to the designated collection point designated by the district office
- Presenting proof of identity, such as an identity card, electricity bill, or water supply bill
- Officials will transport the waste to disposal sites free of charge
The BMA's bulky waste collection campaign serves as a proactive measure to address accumulated rubbish in local neighborhoods. By offering scheduled free pickups, the initiative not only relieves residents of private hauling expenses but also prevents discarded materials from blocking drainage systems—a primary cause of urban flooding during the rainy season. Setting clear schedules combined with strict legal enforcement underscores the city's commitment to fostering sustainable community waste management habits.
Residents who have a large volume of bulky waste or live far from the scheduled collection points can request special services directly through the Cleansing and Parks Division of their respective district offices, subject to official government regulatory fees. Furthermore, the BMA has emphasized strict penalties under the Public Cleanliness and Orderliness Act. Dumping waste outside designated containers or locations incurs a 2,000 Baht fine, while discarding waste into waterways violates Article 380 of the Criminal Code, carrying a hefty fine of up to 10,000 Baht due to the severe impact on the city's drainage infrastructure.
