Murphy praises Man City resilience in derby win

Former professional player Danny Murphy has shared his tactical analysis on Manchester City's impressive statement win under manager Maresca in the Manchester derby. Murphy emphasized that mentality, organization, and resilience were the core elements that allowed City to grind out a result after facing a major setback early in the match.

During the initial stages when both sides had 11 players on the pitch, Michael Carrick's Manchester United side appeared to be the stronger team. Marcus Rashford, in particular, looked exceptionally sharp and caused constant trouble for City's defense. However, the game changed dramatically in the 23rd minute when Phil Foden was justifiably sent off with a red card, halting United's momentum.
