Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office overseeing MCOT, has dismissed circulating rumors regarding a potential merger between MCOT Public Company Limited and Thai PBS, affirming that the reports are strictly speculative based on Ministry of Finance sources.
Speaking at Government House on September 15, 2026, the Minister stated that she had no prior knowledge of such a plan. Upon inquiring with MCOT executives, she was informed that no official notice regarding a merger has been issued, urging staff members not to panic over the unverified reports.

Furthermore, MCOT is currently working in close collaboration with the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) to tackle the company's long-standing financial losses. The government aims to protect the welfare, morale, and job security of all personnel involved during this transition period.
