The Thai entertainment industry is mourning the loss of Ton Chanon, a well-known director and versatile former actor, who has passed away peacefully at the age of 64, leaving colleagues and fans deeply saddened.
According to the Darapilm Facebook page, the funeral rites for Ton Chanon are being held at Sala 2, Wat Kong Phra Sai, in Nakhon Ratchasima province. The bathing ritual took place on September 17, 2026, at 4:00 PM, followed by merit-making prayers at 6:00 PM.
The prayer ceremonies continue through September 18-19, 2026, at 6:00 PM. On September 20, 2026, a monk meal offering is scheduled for 11:00 AM, followed by the procession of the casket to the crematorium at 2:30 PM and the cremation ceremony at 3:00 PM.
The passing of Ton Chanon marks a significant loss of a dedicated creative force behind many popular Thai television dramas and films, reflecting a lifelong contribution to the country's entertainment landscape across multiple genres.

Looking back at his career, Ton Chanon initially gained recognition as an actor, notably playing the role of Paew in the feature film Jennie Oh! Mai Tee Sood, before establishing a successful career as a versatile director.
His notable directing credits feature a wide variety of television dramas, including Mon Rak Lottery and the Channel 3 drama King Ka Long in 2007, alongside other projects such as Phisuea Samut, Waen Kaem Daeng, Arun Sawat, Nang Klang Fai, and Nang Khaen.
In addition, he directed the One31 drama Game Maya starring Puttichai Kasetsin, Warattaya Nilkuha, and Danai Huadcha-im, as well as the romantic drama Long Ngao on PPTV HD in 2023.
