BMA Offers Free Bulky Waste Disposal in 30 Districts

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is launching a special bulky waste collection initiative to help residents properly dispose of unwanted large items. City officials and vehicles will operate across designated target areas on September 19-20, 2026, providing this removal service entirely free of charge for local residents.

According to the operational guidelines, residents in the specified zones should place their bulky waste items in front of their homes before 08:30 AM. District office teams will then conduct collection operations between 09:00 AM and 12:00 PM on those dates. Eligible items include old furniture, large home appliances, unwanted construction materials, and oversized sports equipment.

The scheduled collection locations cover 30 district offices across Bangkok, categorized as follows:

• Zone 1: Klong San (Chumchon Chao Pracha Tha Din Daeng), Klong Toey (Sukhumvit 50 Phra Khanong pump station alley), Khan Na Yao (Ranee 7 Village), Don Mueang (The Plane Vibhavadi Village, Vibhavadi Rangsit Soi 41), Bang Kapi (Thep Thawee Village, Soi Lat Phrao 101 Soi 42), Bang Rak (Soi Waim Ti Community), Bueng Kum (Srinakorn Pattana 2 Village, Soi Nawamin 80), Pathumwan (Trok Salak Hin Community, Pathumwan Police Flat), Pom Prap Sattru Phai (Ban Dok Mai Community), Phra Nakhon (Wat Noranart and Thewet Pier communities), Phra Khanong (Soi Wachiratham Sathit 39 and 39/1), Yannawa (Soi Sathu Pradit 17, 21, 23, 29), Samphanthawong (Chong Sawat Community), and Lak Si (Khet Thung Song Hong 315-316 and Khlong Prem Prachakor communities).
• Zone 2: Klong Sam Wa (Phet Phailin Village, Soi Phraya Suren 3), Chom Thong (Nirvana Village Phase 1-2), Thung Khru (Wiset Suk 15 Village, Soi Pracha Uthit 127), Bangkok Noi (Wat Yang Suttharam Community), Bang Khun Thian (Thonburi Community Housing Project 3 Zone 2), Bang Sue (Soi Prachachuen 33), Bang Bon (Ladaawan Village, Kanchanaphisek Road), Bang Khen (Yu Ruay Community, Anusawari Sub-district), Bang Khae (Sirikasem Ruamjai 50 Community), Min Buri (Min Buri Kra Den Home Village, Rat Uthit Road), Wang Thonglang (Soi Lat Phrao 114, San Prasert Community), Watthana (Phatthana Ban Sam In Community), Saphan Sung (Soi Krungthep Kreetha 17), Nong Chok (Nanthawan 9 Village and Ruam Phatthana Sin Anan Community, Liab Wari Road), and Nong Khaem (Kanda Village and Phetkasem 1 Village).

Residents are advised to sort their bulky waste categories properly prior to disposal. Furniture, electrical appliances, or sports equipment exceeding 1 meters in length should be cut down into shorter pieces. Heavy items should be disassembled and securely bundled together with smaller waste components. Additionally, individuals must bring their Thai national identification card, or alternatively use an electricity or water bill receipt, to present to officials for verification.

The service process requires residents to bring their waste to the designated collection points determined by the district office along with their identification proof. Officials will then transport the waste to disposal facilities at zero cost. For residents who miss these dates or live far from designated collection points, alternative disposal services remain available through the Cleansing and Parks Division of each district office for a regulated government fee.

Finally, the Bangkok administration issued a strict warning that random illegal dumping severely obstructs the city's drainage network. Violators face legal penalties under the Cleanliness Act, including a 2,000 THB fine for dumping outside designated containers or points, and a maximum fine of 10,000 THB for dumping waste directly into waterways under Section 380 of the Criminal Code.
