Securing an international role, especially one with relocation potential, is a common goal for many tech professionals. Key questions often revolve around what companies look for, whether portfolios matter more than experience, or if it simply boils down to timing. Rather than just pondering these questions, the designer decided to keep building.
Since June, he has been working concurrently on two distinct products: a SaaS web application and an EdTech mobile application. Alongside development, he has been applying for roles, conducting interviews, and engaging with companies to find the right fit. While interviewing remains one of the toughest parts of the journey—especially for someone who prefers tackling problems over self-promotion—handing him a user flow, a messy product, or a blank Figma file immediately triggers action.
Building two complete products simultaneously during a job search serves as a powerful proof of work for freelance designers. It bypasses traditional corporate experience barriers and tangibly demonstrates end-to-end product execution capabilities.
The first completed project is Flowwbook, a SaaS platform tailored for appointment-based businesses such as

- spas
- barbers
- clinics
- other service businesses
The platform consolidates bookings, customer management, payments, reminders, and virtual queues into a single system. He managed the product experience and UI design, guiding interactions for owners, staff, and customers. The product is currently in production with frontend implementation wrapping up.

The second project is an AI-powered EdTech mobile application aimed at students preparing for exams in Nigeria, with the current MVP targeting JAMB. The goal is to personalize exam preparation beyond static resource collections and practice questions.
Key features of the EdTech application include:
- Subject selection, target score setting, and exam date tracking
- Micro-quizzes and performance results tracking
- Gamification elements using XP and learning streaks
- Study groups allowing student collaboration and friendly competition
- Leaderboards expanding across states like Lagos and Kwara
- Mock examination environments mirroring real test conditions
Currently sitting at about 80% completion for the mobile app, managing both projects has introduced high pressure and scheduling stress. However, looking back, the process reaffirmed his core passion: taking complex challenges and simplifying them inside Figma alongside founders and developers.
