- Questions the sudden transfer of a local police superintendent
Ms. Phanida Mongkolsawad, Member of Parliament for Constituency 1 in Chiang Mai representing the People's Party, filed a formal complaint with investigators at the Chiang Mai City Police Station. The legal action was taken after two social media pages published misleading claims falsely associating her with Mr. Sittisak, known locally as Korng, and two major illegal gambling dens operating in the province, severely damaging her reputation.
During the police report filing, the People's Party MP firmly asserted that all allegations made by the pages are entirely untrue. She confirmed she has no connection whatsoever to the gambling operations mentioned and submitted digital evidence, including screenshots of the posts, to authorities to pursue strict legal action against the administrators of both pages to protect her dignity as an elected representative.

In addition to addressing the defamation, the Chiang Mai MP raised questions regarding the sudden transfer order affecting a police superintendent in the region. She pointed out the lack of clear transparency surrounding the disciplinary movement and called for relevant authorities to clarify the situation so the public can understand the actual circumstances behind the administrative decision.
The incident highlights the growing challenge of online defamation and misinformation targeting political figures in the digital age. Taking swift legal action serves as a crucial mechanism for public officials to counter fake news, while ongoing scrutiny over police transfers underscores broader demands for accountability and transparency within law enforcement agencies.
Local investigators have accepted the formal complaint, registered the case, and plan to summon the administrators of the two pages for questioning as the legal proceedings move forward.
