  • Huzaifa joined Google Cloud GenAI Academy APAC Cohort 3 by Hack2Skill.
  • The program featured three tracks covering RAG, BigQuery MCP, and automation.
  • Participants submitted an Ideathon Prototype, where he built Reflectora-AI.
  • He successfully earned the Gen AI Master Certificate upon completion.

Navigating cloud technology and artificial intelligence is a pivotal milestone for modern developers. In the Google Cloud GenAI Academy APAC Edition Cohort 3 program, organized by Hack2Skill in collaboration with Google Cloud, participant Huzaifa gained his first comprehensive learning experience building with Google Cloud and AI agents, connecting models to tools, data, applications, and cloud infrastructure.

The academy went far beyond watching videos or reading theory, incorporating hands-on workshops, codelabs, and quizzes before culminating in an Ideathon Prototype Submission to transform newly acquired knowledge into working projects, ultimately earning him the Gen AI Master Certificate.

The program was structured into three main tracks, each featuring workshops, codelabs, and quizzes that demonstrated how AI agents can evolve beyond simple chatbots to work with data, tools, and cloud services. The first track introduced building customer-facing AI agents by deploying a RAG AI Agent in Streamlit using Google ADK and Cloud Run through a coffee shop scenario.

Integrating RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) frameworks with cloud tools like Cloud Run showcases how developers can merge specific database queries—such as menu items and allergen details—with large language models, delivering highly contextual and accurate business recommendations rather than relying solely on generalized model training.

The second track focused on business data integration, utilizing Gemini and the BigQuery MCP Server on Cloud Run to let AI agents interact with structured data via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for advanced data analysis. The third track highlighted operational automation using Cloud Run sandboxes, allowing a personal agent to safely execute Python code to analyze Point-of-Sale data alongside university schedules for operational optimization.

Following the learning tracks, participants tackled the Ideathon Prototype Submission, evaluated across four core areas:

  • Effective utilization of Google Cloud technologies
  • Project completeness and conceptual innovation
  • Problem-solving capabilities via AI tools
  • Social media presentation and explanation

For his final submission, Huzaifa built Reflectora-AI, a personal AI-powered journaling application designed to help users reflect on thoughts and extract useful insights. Featuring various AI modes and robust data management, the project leveraged Google AI Studio, Gemini, and Google Cloud services.
