Apple is preparing to launch a new state-of-the-art live music venue in the United Kingdom named Apple Music Hall, offering a 600-capacity space designed for live performances, recording sessions, and video broadcasts. Situated directly beneath Apple's European headquarters within London's iconic Battersea Power Station, the venue is set to open next week on September 28, though specific details regarding the opening performance remain unannounced.
The venue's architecture and layout are intentionally structured to bridge the gap between intimacy and high production value. It features a 38-foot-wide stage that can be reconfigured for traditional front-facing sets or immersive in-the-round experiences. Furthermore, Apple Music Hall is equipped with a 48-speaker spatial sound system surrounding the audience, hardwired infrastructure for 16 or more broadcast cameras, and two dedicated recording and mixing studios positioned directly behind the stage to function as a comprehensive production facility.

Alongside the performance space, Apple is opening new Apple Music radio studios in Battersea, with all London-based hosts and shows relocating their broadcasts to the new facility. Zane Lowe, Apple Music's global creative director, stated that the team is continuously seeking fresh opportunities to connect artists with fans because they share the same passion as music enthusiasts.
The launch of Apple Music Hall marks Apple's return to the London live music scene following a decade-long run of the iTunes Music Festival, which hosted major acts like One Direction, Lady Gaga, Elton John, and Adele at intimate venues before its cancellation in 2017. Battersea Power Station itself, a decommissioned Art Deco facility that reopened in 2022, holds deep roots in music history as it famously appeared on the cover of Pink Floyd's Animals album.
