The iconic Blue Yeti microphone finally has a true successor after launching as a go-to USB audio device for content creators back in 2009. Rolled out under the Logitech G brand, the new Blue Yeti 2 introduces modern upgrades including an interactive LED display, AI noise suppression, and a proximity-based voice sensor designed to overcome design quirks of the original hardware.
Priced at $159.99 in black or white colorways, the new hardware undercuts popular competitor models like Shure's MV7 series which start at $299. Notably, the launch price sits only $10 higher than the original Blue Yeti debut 17 years prior, following Logitech's $117 million acquisition of Blue in 2018 and the subsequent retirement of the standalone Blue brand in 2023.
This release reflects Logitech's strategy to merge legacy audio hardware into its dedicated gaming division, Logitech G. While branding updates dropped the Blue name entirely, the company maintains strong nostalgic elements by keeping the classic silhouette while integrating modern quality-of-life automation for modern streamers and podcasters.
The built-in audio proximity sensor tracks user movement in 3D space, dynamically altering gain levels, equalization, and polar patterns to keep audio capture consistent regardless of distance fluctuations.

The exterior design also pays homage to the original chassis while addressing user confusion regarding speaking into the correct orientation of the microphone capsule.
