Microsoft appears poised to introduce its own version of PlayStation's coveted platinum trophies to the Xbox ecosystem. Recent updates to the Xbox PC app have uncovered references to Mythic Achievements, a new tier designed to reward players who manage to complete every single achievement available within a specific game.
According to data found within the application, Mythic Achievements will trigger a distinctive unlock sound when they appear on screen. Players will also be granted the ability to track their earned Mythic items directly through the Xbox dashboard and showcase their total Mythic count on their gamer profiles for others to see.
The introduction of a platinum trophy equivalent addresses a long-standing feature gap requested by the community, bridging the competitive trophy-hunting experience that PlayStation has successfully utilized for years to boost player engagement and long-term game completion rates.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma previously teased last month that the platform would indeed receive a platinum trophy equivalent sometime later this year. While Microsoft has yet to formally and officially announce Mythic Achievements to the public, their sudden emergence in early software builds points toward an imminent release.
Selected Xbox Insider testers have already begun spotting early references to these high-tier achievements within preliminary versions of the Xbox dashboard interface, confirming that internal testing is well underway.
Interestingly, these Mythic Achievements started surfacing inside the Xbox PC app on the exact same day Microsoft announced significant corporate restructuring, including laying off 268 Xbox staff members, reportedly closing Ninja Theory, and transitioning franchises like Halo, Sea of Thieves, and Age of Empires over to Activision.
