Meta is moving quickly to expand its personal AI agent, Muse, just weeks after its initial launch. During his keynote kicking off the company's annual Connect event in Menlo Park, CEO Mark Zuckerberg made it clear that the social media giant is betting big on consumer AI and embedding Muse deeply into users' daily routines.
Powered by Muse Spark—Meta's multimodal AI model built specifically for agentic work—Muse is designed to handle everyday tasks by connecting smoothly across a user's devices, email, and digital accounts. Zuckerberg envisions the assistant not only saving time but eventually generating income for its users.

Among the standout announcements is the ability for users to conjure a distinct digital avatar for their agent and engage in live video chats. Developed using a new AI model called Muse Realtime Avatar, this feature gives previously faceless software a face, body, and voice to create a much more personable conversational experience.
Meta also announced deep integration with its smart glasses lineup. Users will be able to activate the agent simply by speaking to their glasses, allowing Muse to guide personalized workouts, log meals, book appointments, and assist with purchasing products seen in the real world.
By bridging software agents with physical hardware like smart glasses and desktop operating systems, Meta is executing a comprehensive ecosystem play. This strategy mirrors efforts by competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic to establish AI assistants as universal interfaces capable of operating desktop software and interacting with the physical world through wearable devices.
Furthermore, Meta provided details on bringing Muse to Mac desktop computers, allowing users to delegate tasks and have the agent operate desktop apps or manage email threads. To bolster its shopping utility, Meta secured partnerships with retail giants including Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, Wayfair, Expedia, and Instacart, alongside payment integrations with Stripe, PayPal, and Shopify's complete product catalog.
