On September 25, 2026, Mr. Songphol Sooksomboon, a Member of Parliament for Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Constituency 1 under the Bhumjaithai Party, came forward to address the ongoing flood situation in Bang Ban district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, while fiercely denying social media criticism regarding the distribution of foam boards to flood victims.
Songphol revealed that while the current flood levels in Bang Ban district remain lower than those recorded in 2025, residents are deeply anxious about rapid water releases and short-notice hourly warnings that leave communities unprepared. He stated that he has continuously coordinated with the government for long-term solutions while persistently visiting the ground to alleviate immediate hardships for local residents.

Addressing the social media controversy surrounding the distribution of foam boards, Songphol explained with frustration that the incident occurred while he was returning from a parliament session to inspect Klong Kraduang following local complaints. He happened to encounter a Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) council member distributing PAO foam boards in the area, so he stopped by to visit and chat. His team took photos and posted them on their page, clearly stating that the supplies belonged to the PAO and the local PAO member, without falsely claiming them as his own.
"Residents requested them because they feared floods reaching as high as in 2025. The foam boards you see are not used for floating around; villagers use them to elevate trees, belongings, and agricultural equipment."
